Don Yelton shows racism here to stay: A chameleon can only change its color, never its skin

Race relations in America have improved but still, the road is long for better relations between Whites and Blacks, especially in the Southern United States.  The comment by the GOP chair of Buncombe County in North Carolina about “lazy Blacks” on Jon Stewart’s “The Daily Show” (that led to his resignation) confirms once again what many Whites believe about African Americans.

Don Yelton is a Southern boy, proud of it, and not ashamed of his racist views. Racism is like prostitution: people will be born and will die, and racism and prostitution will stay. I give him credit for saying loudly what many others believe in silence. As the Masai of Kenya say, “A chameleon can only change its color, never its skin.”
