My nine year old daughter asked me, what is Memorial Day? She was confusing it with Veteran’s Day. Memorial Day is the day we remember military servicemen and women who have sacrificed their lives in wars to keep the United States safe and free.
President Obama respected tradition by laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery. All around the country, American people gathered at monuments, cemeteries and memorials to honor those who died in wars.
American freedom has a heavy price. As the Bedouin of Egypt say, “Sometimes you need to sacrifice your beard in order to save your head.”
