Israel should not use fear to discredit the US: Do not cut down the tree that gives you shade

The pressure over Iran is mounting in Israel and the United States. The Obama administration has been accused by the Israelis of refusing to meet Prime Minister Netanyahu. The White House claims that the President is unable to meet the Israeli leader due to his heavy schedule. Definitely, there is friction between the Jewish State and the US government. Israel sees that the US is slow to prevent Iran from going nuclear.

The truth is President Obama is more focused on his reelection than on going to another war. While there is no hope for a diplomatic solution to resolve this matter, the disagreement between two close allies who have the same preoccupations should be kept behind closed doors. Israel should not use fear to discredit their biggest ally in the world. As the Wolof of Senegal say, “Do not cut down the tree that gives you shade.”
