RIP Meles Zanawi of Ethiopia: Death is like a robe that, at some point or another, everyone has to wear

The recognition of a great leader is by the way he has a positive impact in his country. Meles Zenawi, the Ethiopian leader who just passed on is one of the greatest leaders of our time. Seen by his enemies as a dictator, others saw him as an intellectual with a vision for economic progress and stability behind Ethiopia’s borders.

Meles Zenawi will be missed. He died too soon at┬áthe age of 57. Mr. Zenawi was a Pan-Africanist, a role model for his rigorous lifestyle and a hard-working man. Hopefully, the transition of power will be smooth and the government’s policies will maintain peace and stability in Ethiopia.

Unfortunately, as the┬áToucouleur of Senegal say, “Death is like a robe that, at some point or another, everyone has to wear.” Rest in peace, Meles Zenawi.
