As expected, one by one, the Republican contenders are dropping out of the Republican primary race. Like the African Americans’ choice of President Obama because of his Blackness, Jon Huntsman has endorsed his fellow Mormon, Mitt Romney. There is no shame about that. His choice is welcome at a time Mormonism is under attack by those who believe that only they are the  ”elected” people of God: Christian conservative groups.

Jon Huntsman and Mitt Romney may have different visions about how to bring back America’s prestige but still their faith unites them as brothers born from the same womb. As the Igbo of Nigeria say, “Children of the same mother do not always agree.”
