Some called him a dictator for ruling his country for 42 years. Others saw him as a resistor of the super powers. Moammar Ghadaffi was already a legend before his death. I admired the man for his character.
Scenes of joy in Tripoli are a classic picture of the fall of a long time ruler. He has joined the list of those who marked the world by leading their people with iron hands: Mussolini, Saddam Hussein, Hitler, Mobutu. He was not perfect, but Moammar Ghaddafi through his rhetoric has always tried to lift the spirit of the African continent against those who see Africa as a pasture.
There is no way that Ghaddafi was captured and killed without a foreign intervention. As usual, the same lie is spread by Western media. I am so glad that Colonel Ghaddafi is dead in his hometown and was not brought to the international justice court. As the Hausa of Niger say, “The multitude is stronger than the king.”
The king is dead, long live the king!
