The house of the Democrats is burning. There is no way to conceal the smoke. The Democrats and their leader President Obama have many reasons to worry about the next presidential election. After their big loss of the majority in the House of Representives and the loss of Anthony Weiner’s seat in New York, it is clear that things are going very badly for President Obama. There are signs of a big referendum on the President for failing to deliver on his promises.

Hope alone is not a magic word that will change things. President Obama is likely to become a one-term president. America will wait another 400 years to see a man of color in the White House, unless the fast growing Hispanic community changes the equation 50 years from now and “saves” people of color.

Clearly, President Obama is fighting hard, travelling, holding meetings and hoping that people will still have faith in him. The truth is that people looking for jobs are waiting too long. Can the President change things between now and the next presidential election? It is hard to believe. But, who knows?

His chance to stay in the White House also depends on the GOP‘s choice for presidential candidate. For now, President Obama is like a gypsy, crossing the whole country, asking for a second chance. I am afraid that it is too late. As the Basa of Cameroon say, “The arrow that misses the head of its target will never hit the tail.”
