Quietly but surely, America is facing the 10th anniversary of 9/11. Is Al-Qaeda planning a spectacular attack to “celebrate” their best success against “the country of great Satan?” No one knows.

Every year, when we approach the infamous date of 9/11, the fear is symbolized by the controversial scanners that are supposed to prevent more attacks on US soil. It’s also the time for blame games between intelligence agencies regarding sharing information and working together to fight terrorism.

We can predict what will happen this coming week. America will be on high alert. Al-Qaeda, an organization that knows very well the psychology of the American people, will increase their threats and propaganda via the Internet.

The truth is that anxiety in America is built up by its own media. Americans’ lives have been changed forever, but life continues. People should not stop doing what they like to do because of Al-Qaeda’s treats. As the Amhara of Ethiopia say, “One cannot stop sleeping in fear of bad dreams.”
