Betty Ford dies at the age of 93: The dying man is not saved by medicine

The death of a public figure such as Betty Ford is big news, not to mention a reminder that, as we get older, we are approaching our own death.

Betty Ford died at the age of 93. She had a good life. She will be remembered for the good things that she did to advance womens rights in the United States.

When a person dies, it is good to see focus on the good rather than the bad. Being First Lady didn’t prevent her from struggling with alcoholism. Nobody is perfect. Alcoholism is a disease.

Betty Ford is a true heroine and will be remembered as a brave woman. Unfortunately, nothing is stronger than death. When it is time to leave the world, nothing can stop death. As the Igbo of Nigeria say, “The dying man is not saved by medicine.”
