Politics is serious business. One must have a clean past and a clean present to be successful.

Former Massachussets governor Mitt Romney is haunted by “Romneycare,” a universal healthcare law he signed five years ago that is similar to Obamacare. Under a lot of criticism from his own party, Romney is trying to distance himself from his past. Universal healthcare is still very unpopular among Americans.

We can predict that Mitt Romney will have a hard time dissociating himself from Romneycare. It will open doors for other GOP contenters to knock him out of the primaries.  As the Bedouin of Egypt say, “Four things come not back–the spoken word, the sped arrow, the past life, and the neglected opportunity.”
