The IMF (International Monetary Fund) has called for a dollar alternative as the world’s reserve currency. That move symbolizes the decline of US power and influence in the world.

Like an old lion, the US scares with its name, not by its power, anymore. The rising of China scares many in the US. But the truth is that the Americans cannot stop Chinese influence over the world economy and affairs.  The power of the Euro over the dollar tells the story, too. It is only a matter of time before we see the US lose its status of super power. As the Igbo of Nigeria say, “The lion’s power lies in our fear of him.”
