In a very rare interview, former secretary of state Condoleeza Rice said she did not have regrets about removing Saddam Hussein from power but did admit that mistakes were made in Iraq after the fall of the dictator. These admissions come after the damage has been done.

Clearly, the Bush administration did not have a plan before invading Iraq. The scale of destruction is beyond imagination and the country is about to fall into civil war. The fact that Iraq is going more than 200 days without a government speaks loudly how the country is divided.

The Bush administration did not go to Iraq for humanitarian reasons. The other losers in the whole invasion are the American tax payers. I will not be surprised to see people like Condi Rice and Cheney and Rumsfeld become more “religious” at the end of their lives, fearing God’s judgment. As the Maasai of Kenya say, “After a foolish deed comes remorse.”
