Sometimes silence is the best attitude in the face of controversy. As President of the United States, President Obama shouldn’t express his opinion about anything that is controversial. His latest “faux pas” — giving his opinion about the building of a mosque near ground zero — has added fuel to the fire.
It is good to see people from his own party such as Harry Reid step up and say no to what is stupidity and nonsense. Allah will certainly understand the suffering and the opposition of the American people. The polls in the US are very clear that most of the American people are against the idea. The president should follow the will of the American people. As the Baganda of Uganda say, “If you ignore your own relatives, you will serve the outsiders.”
