No matter what the outcome of the election will be, Oklahoma will make history by electing their first female governor. Hopefully, the rising of women in politics will show progress made in women’s rights and equality.

Unfortunately the militia-style groups growing like mushrooms speak clearly about the challenges for the incoming governor. Timothy McVeigh has left a dark mark on the history of Oklahoma. We pray that the incoming governor in November will have the mercy of these domestic terrorists. 

The new governor – Jari Askins or Mary Fallin – will contribute to a better Oklahoma. There can be only one winner. As the Berber of Morocco say, “Two cats can never be equal; one will always be bigger than the other.”
