Shirley Sherrod, the woman who exposed the sneaky dishonest methods Fox News and the Tea Party extremists use and call “news,” is being showered by apologies from every direction.

This is the beginning of the decline of whites in America. Whites have been in a position of privilege, and now, sharing the privilege with others is sending them into a panic. Latinos are the fastest growing minority and are predicted to become the majority in the US. A black man has been elected to the White House. All these facts are too much to handle for some white men.

This panic has led conservatives to attack by posting information out of context and liberals to be on the defensive, acting in haste and without all the facts. The lesson that we all can learn is to think twice before jumping to conclusions. As the Serere of Senegal say, “Haste and hurry can only bear children with many regrets along the way.”
