The latest polls show that President Obama‘s approval rating is going down, despite his political achievements such as passing the healthcare bill, nominating the first Hispanic to the Supreme Court, developing financial reforms, and so on.
While unemployement is very high during this tough recovery time, things are not better for minorities. The most interesting thing about the president’s approval rating is that he is still fairly popular among Blacks and Hispanics and very unpopular among Whites.
In a bad economy, minorities suffer the most – but still they are loyal to the president. Is it a race thing? Whites on other hand seem to expect instant gratification. As the Serere of Senegal say, “Equality is not easy, but superiority is painful.”
