General McChrystal’s Resignation: The downfall of a man is not the end of his life.

General McChrystal has “resigned,” as expected. The General and his staff were frustrated with the White House and made some undiplomatic and unprofessional public comments.

General McChrystal certainly has great experience and understands the Afghan war better than President Obama. He has said what he said and apologized for it.  He still deserves respect for serving his country. His attitude is not treason. In fact, we should give him credit for getting the attention of the American people for this critical war.

McChrystal is only 55 years old. He still has more opportunities to serve his country. Meanwhile, life will continue. As the Bambara of Mali say, “The downfall of a man is not the end of his life.”
