Anger is growing more and more over repeated failures by BP to stop the oil spill. The anger of the people of Louisiana is legitimate and understandable.

President Obama is taking the heat as well. His decision to put offshore drilling in the Arctic on hold illustrates how Americans are having second thoughts about oil drilling.

The worse oil spill in American history should not scare the public if they really want to be independent of foreign oil. The President should think twice and consider the benefits of offshore drilling as well. As the Basaa of Cameroon say, “A chief should not create a new law when he is angry.”
