Gordon Brown and Bigot: The bee that carries honey in its mouth carries a sting in its tail.

Election fever in Britain is high. I have not seen such passion and enthusiasm among the British for a long time. As always during elections, politicians are being watched closely as they campaign.

Gordon Brown, the current Prime Minister, was caught on microphone describing a voter that he just spoke to as a “bigoted woman.” Gillian Duffy, a 65 year old woman, put him on the spot over Eastern European immigrants. The Prime Minister forgot that he was still wearing a microphone.

Behind the traditional mask “it was a great pleasure meeting you” was hiding anger. Hopefully, Mr. Brown’s faux pas will teach a lesson to others to be careful what you say. As the Kikuyu of Kenya say, “The bee that carries honey in its mouth carries a sting in its tail.”
