Despite the scandalous news of child abuse around the world, the Pope is still very silent. The crisis is deepening. The Pope is trapped! If he resigns, it will send the wrong signal to devout followers, and symbolize the beginning of the end of the Catholic church. If he stays and asks forgiveness, it will not be enough to reestablish trust.

Abusing kids is wrong, abusing deaf kids is the action of an evil one. For sure, Father Lawrence Murphy is burning in hell for abusing 200 deaf boys. No one enjoys aiming criticism at the Holy Father. The whole situation is just sad.

Pope Benedict XVI is certainly suffering in his flesh. At this point prayers are not enough. As the Swahili of Tanzania say, “One who keeps silent, endures.”
