Despite the risk of being killed, the brave people of Iraq turned out to vote en masse. Democracy is like a pregnancy, the labor is hard but the result is a beautiful baby. The best way to defeat the enemy of Iraq is to show their determination.

Many challenges are still ahead. People who lived for many years under a brutal dictatorial regime of Saddam Hussein will face those who will not accept losing an election and who are nostalgic for the old regime.

But, still Iraq is on the right track. The spirit of the people of Iraq alone can defeat those who prefer bombs and intimidation as way of expression. As the Kikuyu of Kenya say, “Courage is not the same as fighting someone stronger than you.”
