Obama vs. GOP: Live together like brothers and do business like strangers.

The dirty part of American politics is the division, like a coconut with a big crack in the shell. You lose the milk and it’s almost impossible to put it together again. Consider:

  • Tea Party vs. MoveOn.org
  • Republicans vs. Democrats
  • Blue states vs. Red states
  • Liberal vs. Extremists

The constitution of the United States of America was written to prevent the abuse of power by one political party. But when a minority party blocks all kinds of progress to solve problems, it is wrong. Despite their disagreements, both sides agreed today’s dialogue is a step in the right direction.

I am very curious about the outcome of the President trying to reach out to the Republican party to get them to work with him in solving an important task. Definitely there is mistrust between the two political parties. As the Bedouin of Egypt say, “Live together like brothers and do business like strangers.”
