Money talks but money is also evil. The Supreme Court decision to further empower corporations to use their financial clout to directly influence elections is an endorsement to corporations to keep the American people hostage to interest groups.

It is a bizarre decision and the type of decision that makes America unique compared to other civilized countries. It is a late Christmas gift for the GOP the biggest beneficiary of special interest group money. Why do American consent to be run or influenced by interest groups? Why there is no effective law to limit the power of these groups? It is a sign of the ignorance of the American people that they are unaware of the power of Vox Populi, Vox Dei!

I am not sure if civic education in America is not well thought out or people just do not care why they vote. I have met many Americans who vote Democrat or Republican simply because their parents are Democrats or Republicans.

For sure, the interest groups and lobbyists will enjoy this decision for long time… until the death of the next conservative Supreme Court justice. As the Douala of Cameroon say, ” The coffin seller wants a long life for himself and a short life for others.”
