Joe Lieberman is certainly one of the men most hated by liberals in the fight over health care. Honestly, what were the Democrats thinking? What are their expectations for a man who left their party to be an independent and who supported their political opponent in the presidential race?

A retaliation against Lieberman by targeting his wife is certainly not the best way to convince him to support their health care reforms. Joe Lieberman is not a Democrat. In fact, 81 percent of Democrats want Lieberman stripped of his Senate Homeland Security Committee chairmanship if he joins Republicans to block health care reform.

Stripping him of that chairmanship is something that they should have reconsidered long ago, right after the presidential elections. At this point, Democrats should not complain about raising a snake in their own home. As the Bateke of Congo say, “If you can bear the hissing of a snake, don’t complain when you are bitten.”

Joe lieberman blocks health care reforms: If you can bear the hissing of a snake, don't complain when you are bitten.
