The whole world has watched the odyssey of the Balloon Boy. As parents, many had chills, feeling the pain and fear of his parents. The good thing is that the boy is fine.

Live on TV, people have been speculating, pointing fingers to the child’s parents for bad parenting or wondering if this is about publicity. The truth is that nobody knows what really did happen.  Maybe this was just an accident. Or maybe a pure calculation for media attention.

If it is the case that this was a publicity stunt, then the family has succeeded in stealing the show from President Obama’s controversial visit to New Orleans. As the Bedouin of Egypt say “A known mistake is better than an unknown truth.”
