Pakistan has been hit by a series of bombs in the last seven days, confirming that — despite financial and material support from the US — what appears to be the war on terror by the US is in reality the Pakistani’s problem.
The flow of US dollars to support the Pakistani government does not help them to combat the Taliban in their own country. The pretext of fighting the “American war” is a great excuse to get money from the US government. Behind the “offensives against the Taliban” and many “successes” or the killing of “an important Taliban commander” is hidden a great failure of an army unable to eradicate terrorism on its soil.
If the Taliban are capable of infiltrating the Pakistani military headquarters and imposing a climate of terror all around Pakistan, the rest of the world is holding its breath that nuclear weapons do not fall into the hands of the extremists.
Definitely, this war is a Pakistani war first, not an American war. As the Yakoma of Congo say, “When a plate is covered, its contents are hidden.”
