The cynical side of American politics is just unbelievable. After the death of Senator Ted Kennedy, despite national mourning, the two political parties (Democrats and Republicans) are already in conflict about the replacement for the dead Senator.
It is true that life will continue after the funeral of Senator Kennedy. All politicians, who seem to agree that this man has served his country with great honor, should at least pay him a great respect by honoring his wishes to have a replacement selected. If not, then the all political class is just a club of hypocrites.
Despite all the brouhaha, someone will be selected or elected according the Massachusetts constitution. As the Swahili of Kenya say, “Death has its advantages too it benefits those who inherit.”
