It is official, former President Jimmy Carter and his wife have left the Southern Baptist Church over the discrimination of women and girls. He was a member of this church for more than 60 years.

If a man of God makes a strong decision to leave a church that he loved for so long, certainly the church’s twist in the interpretation of God’s words went too far. To lose such an important figure of their church should put the leadership of the Southern Baptist Church against the wall, and force them to look at the direction that their church is taking. As the Baluba of Congo say, “A bad wound deserves strong medicine.”
