Walter Cronkite, the most well-known and respected figure in the American media, has passed away.

For many of us who were not born in the U.S., Walter Cronkite was the image of America for decades. He died at the age of 92. At the height of his career, Cronkite was the most trusted and well-respected journalist. He was the voice, the ears, and the image of America.

Cronkite had a great and long life. Like good things, life doesn’t last forever. As the Arabs of Egypt say, “Death is a black camel which kneels at every man’s gate. Sooner or later you must ride the camel.”
