Sometimes it is difficult to be silent when facing a complex situation. President Obama has sent a strong message to the Iranian regime about the use of force against their own people. It is a good thing to say something at this moment when the opposition in Iran needs some moral support from the rest of the world.
What is wrong is wrong. Basic human rights is the right that any people in the world deserve. Obama’s message has been sent at the right moment. Fearing to stand up against Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, to save an eventual hoped-for peace with Iran is a sort cowardice. As the Mina of Benin say, “Silence is an attribute of the dead; he who is alive speaks.”
