The President of the United States is back from the Summit of the Americas. He’s under a lot of criticism from the GOP for shaking hands with Hugo Chavez, the Venezuela president seen by many Republicans as an enemy of the United States. Obama is also under criticism for easing the restrictions against Cuba.

The GOP is out of touch with reality. Most of the US policies against their enemies have not only failed, but created anti-American feelings in Venezuela, North Korea, Iran, and throughout the Muslim world. If Republicans think that talking to your enemy is a sign of weakness, American will never achieve peace.

Authentic GOP politicians must be objective and accept their failure, not criticize for the sake of criticizing. As the Bete of Ivory Coast say, “He who talks incessantly, talks nonsense.”
