According to the New York Times, a cyber spy network based in China has tapped into classified documents in 103 countries around the world, targeting governments and private organizations. The computers of Tibetan exiles were not exempted. Spying is not a novelty in civilized society.

What surprised me most is that people seem to be in shock to learn that China is spying on others. In reality, almost all the countries in the world have a spy agency, whether FSB or CIA. So countries spy on countries.

I certainly understand the panic in industrialized societies about being infiltrated by an ambitious country such as China, a country which clearly wants to dominate the world. I would not be surprised if the authorities in Beijing were not directly involved in this matter. As the Indians of South Africa say, “God laughs when you steal from a thief.”
