Many people are set to abandon their houses around the town of Fargo in North Dakota, fearing the flood. The Red River rose to its highest level in more than 100 years, putting the city at risk.
For those still skeptical about the effect of global warming, this is another reason for worries. The US Midwest is known for floods and tornadoes. Clearly things are getting worse every year. For sure, this US region will continue to have floods as long as it has rivers. As the Ngonde of Malawi say, “Where there is a sea there will always be pirates.”
