After his arrest for trying to sell President Obama‘s senate seat, Rod Blagojevich appointed Roland Burris to the position.

Roland Burris was one of the first to ask the governor to resign after the allegations were brought to the public. The nomination of Roland Burris was a surprise and created a cloud of suspicion. Since the day he admitted that he had tried to raise money for Blagojevich, he has repeatedly changed his story. Many people, including Senators, are calling on him to resign.

When I look back at the interviews with Governor Blagojevich, I agree with him when he said that all is politics. Who could believe that Roland Burris had contact with the Governor’s brother to raise money for him? Of course Roland Burris maintains that he did nothing wrong. His nomination stinks. As the Duala of Cameroon say, “If a shrimp often hangs out with a crocodile, he will smell like a crocodile.”
