The TV executive accused of beheading his wife in New York created his TV station to improve the image of Muslims after the terrorist attack of 9/11. Life is full of irony. He just proved the opposite.
Islam is a bloody religion. Beneath the head scarves of women are the hidden sadness of abuses. The man who tried to show to America that “Muslims are good people” is a sample of a Muslim society that applies terrorism first to their own women and girls. How many girls are killed for refusing to marry the husband picked by their father? How many brothers “saved” the honor of the family by killing their sisters? How many girls are unable to go to school because women are not allowed to get an education?
I am far from putting Muslims on trial. But I am offended to see the exportation of this kind of killing. Pure Barbarism. The world will not forget the assassination of Theo Van Gogh, the Dutch filmmaker who expressed his views about Islam. Instead of proving that Muslims are good people, Muzzammil “Mo” Hassan just confirmed what the world thinks about Muslims. For people who follow the Arab world reality, this execution “Van Gogh style” is the perfect punishment. As the Zulu of South Africa say, “A tree is known by its fruit.”
