The Republican party just elected Michael Steele as their first African American chairman. Like my five year old daughter said this morning, he is their Barack — she called the GOP “copy cats”.

Who could believe that the Republicans would elect a “Negro” as their chairman? Especially since they are associated with pro White supporters. It will be difficult to sell the idea that GOP is a party of diversity. The party is out of touch with the modern world. Being Black and Republican is already bizarre in America. Black Republicans are often “rich Blacks.”

This calculated move will try to capture Black votes in the next elections. Mr. Michael Steele will have to work hard to rebuild their party. For sure, Michael Steele is not Barack Obama. As the Kikuyu of Kenya say, “All Cassava roots have the same skins but not all taste the same.”
