January 20th, 2009, is certainly one of the biggest days in American history and the history of the world. All the credit goes to the American people. Once again, America has shown to the world that democracy works.

Today is not a day of victory of Blacks against Whites, but a day of justice and equality. I am not for reminding over and over how far Black people have come or how hard, long, and enduring the road has been to be where we are today. America still has a long way to go. But it is good progress. Obama is reinventing America.

The impact of his achievement is overwhelming in America and the rest of the World. I had a dream last night about seeing what America has done being reproduced somewhere else: in South Africa, a country that has some similarities and differences with America. I would like to see South Africa elect a White man or an Indian minority.

Barack Obama is certainly not God. But, he has good intentions to lead this country for the better. As the Ashanti of Ghana say, “When the music changes, so does the dance.”
