The Israelis and Hamas have agreed on a cease-fire after three weeks of violent struggle. I am not sure if Israel has achieved its goal: destroy all the tunnels that Hamas uses to smuggle weapons from Egypt and stop the firing of rockets in southern Israel.
I am not a psychic, but I can predict that Hamas will not stop firing rockets into Israel, even after being hit hard by the Israeli army. Only time will tell if this truce is real or it is another distraction.
Hamas is a master of taking a defeat as a victory — they already claimed victory. I can predict that they will carry out a spectacular attack on Israel to show that Israel didn’t achieve their goal. We have seen it in the past and it will continue. I don’t believe that the cease-fire will last. Hamas will likely keep attacking. As the Arabs of Egypt say,”Believe what you see, and lay aside what you hear.”
