The biggest news is still the arrest of Governor Blagojevich. More and more new details about the tapes are being released by the Federal prosecutors. Apparently, it was Blagojevich’s wife’s idea to put pressure on the Tribune Company to fire their editorial board. She was also engaged in the Governor’s attempts to sell Barack Obama’s U.S. Senate seat in exchange for her placement on a paid corporate board or some other compensation. Clearly the Governor’s motivations were greed and to please his wife. Power is an evil. What a humiliating moment to see a Governor arrested like a mafia mob boss. I’m not a misogynist, but as the Arabs of Algeria say, “Obedience to a woman leads to hell.”
