Losing someone is painful. The death of a child is even more painful and tragic. I have been inspired by the last wish of Brenden Foster, a 11 year old old boy who died of Leukemia. His last wish was to feed the homeless. His gesture caught the attention of the all nation.
With only a few days left before his death, he chose to share food with those who don’t have enough. His story touched people so deeply that it spread, inspiring food drives from Los Angeles to Pensacola, Fla., to a school in Ohio — all in this past week alone. This kid left such a powerful legacy to the American people about what matters the most in life. Especially in a society where greed and indifference are customs. As the Arabs of Algeria say, “Take into account the words of the one who makes you mourn, not those of the one who makes you laugh.”
