President Bush could pardon CIA officers who took part in intensive interrogation against terrorist suspects using techniques including water boarding. The name of Scooter Libby, vice-president Dick Cheney‘s former chief of staff is also circulating as one of the beneficiaries of President Bush’s pardon. He was found guilty of obstruction of justice for his role in leaking the name of CIA officer, Valerie Plame. Honestly, someone who looks carefully at the conservative machine cannot be surprised. George Bush’s public approval rating is at its lowest. No matter what decision he makes, bad or good, his legacy will be controversial. George Bush doesn’t have anything to lose. As the Yoruba of Nigeria say, “When the bush is on fire, the antelope cease to fear the hunter’s bullets.”
