According to the media, Sarah Palin is breaking the rules of her own campaign. Tension is increasing between her and key aides to John McCain. Last month, she showed some signs of disagreement when the McCain campaign decided to pull out of Michigan.
Now that things are not going well in the polls, she clearly is looking after her future. She is projecting herself as a future leader of the Republican party. She is young and ambitious. In 2012, she will only be 48 years old. The question is, how much knowledge and understanding of the economy and foreign affairs will she have 4 years from now? How much charisma does she have to lead the party of Ronald Reagan? How would she overcome her weaknesses and moderate her extremist views?
John McCain should be kicking himself. Should he blame Sarah Palin for thinking about tomorrow now? As the Bateke of Congo say, “When a stone falls from the sky, everyone protects his own head.”
