More sad news in American politics. Ashley Todd from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, a young female volunteer for the McCain campaign, was charged for filing a false police report. She claimed that she was attacked and sexually assaulted by a Black man because she had a McCain/Palin bumper sticker on the back of her car. C’est du deja vu, I would say in French. What a very bizarre story! It was a hoax.
Please watch the video and judge for yourself:

It is clear that the McCain campaign is not responsible for the actions of their volunteers. However, by using fear and hate messages, they create among white racists a climate of fear of losing their position. Surprising? Of course not. How many people have I met who fear “the rising of Blacks” by electing Barack Obama as President of the United States. This fear reminds me of the fear from a few decades ago of the invasion of “African bees” in the United States. As the Bateke of Gabon say, “You don’t fear the rain because the sky is dark.”
