“The federal government is asking Congress for $700 billion to buy up distressed assets as part of its plan to help halt the worst financial crisis since the 1930s.”

The financial crisis in the US economy is a very serious matter which affects almost every American. How did this happen? Why? Definitely all the governments prior to the Bush administration share the responsibility. Several administrations have let bad practices and “bad seeds” control the financial system. This financial crisis Americans have has repercussions on the rest of the world. Honestly, this crisis was preventable. Any reasonable government cannot afford to bail out every financial institution anytime that there is a problem.

Prevention is the best solution… I mean, by that, regulation of the financial system. The government can’t be a firefighter… to extinguish the fire anytime that the house is burning. As the pygmies of the equatorial forest of Congo say, ” It’s not on the day of hunting that the hunter prepare his lances.”
