Mr. President,
Night and day I ask myself whether Saddam Hussein really had weapons of mass destruction. In the past, he used them against his own people and Iran. He surely had ambitions to develop better-performing weapons, but not the means to develop them freely. He must have destroyed the chemical weapons he had before the United Nations inspectors set foot in Iraq. However, Mr. President, since Saddam Hussein was a war prisoner, why didn’t you ask him? He must have known the truth! As the Haoussa of Cameroon say, “The one who buried the body knows where the head is.”
